Thamel is a beautiful places and popular tourist destination in Kathmandu,Nepal. Thamel has been the centre of the tourist industry in Kathmandu for over two decades, growing up between two of the original hotels, the Kathmandu Guest house and Hotel Utse. Even though Thamel has been referred to as the "ghetto" by some, most low-budget travelers consider it a tourist haven. Its concentration of narrow streets are lined with small shops selling everything from food and provisions to clothes, walking gear, cakes, pastries, music, DVDs (mostly pirated), handicrafts, travel agents and budget hotels. The area has some very good restaurants. Although prices tend to be significantly higher than non-tourist areas, food hygiene is generally a lot better too.Thamel also acts as the pre-base camp for mountaineers. It boasts a wide range of mountaineering gear shops, foreign money exchange booths, pubs, clubs and nightlife along with the numerous travel agents, and guest houses. All in all, Thamel is home to a wide range of audience of the nepalese population for entertainment and employment purposes.Raj lamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16168452664744742199noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423150179894819514.post-85689520994882167352011-07-07T00:23:00.000-07:002011-07-07T00:23:46.111-07:00Rain ABOUT RAIN

Rain is liquid Precipitation as opposed to non-liquid kinds of precipitation such as hail and sleet. Rain requires the presence of a thick layer of the atmosphere to have temperatures above the melting point of water near and above the Earth's surface. On Earth, it is the atmospheric water vapor into drops of water heavy enough to fall, often making it to the surface. Two processes, possibly acting together, can lead to air becoming saturated leading to rainfall: cooling the air or adding water vapor to the air. Virga is precipitation that begins falling to the earth but evaporates before reaching the surface; it is one of the ways air can become saturated. Precipitation forms via collision with other rain drops or ice crystals within a cloud. Rain drops range in size from oblate, pancake-like shapes for larger drops, to small spheres for smaller drops.
Moisture moving along three-dimensional zones of temperature and moisture contrasts known as weather fronts is the major method of rain production. If enough moisture and upward motion is present, precipitation falls from convective clouds (those with strong upward vertical motion) such as cunnulonimbus (thunderstorms) which can organize into narrow rainbands. In mountainous areas, heavy precipitation is possible where upslope flow is maximized within windward sides of the terrain at elevation which forces moist air to condense and fall out as rainfall along the sides of mountains. On the leeward side of mountains, desert climates can exist due to the dry air caused by downslope flow which causes heating and drying of the air mass. The movement of the monsoon trough, or inter tropical convergence zone, brings rainy seasons to asvannah climes. Rain is the primary source of freshwater for most areas of the world, providing suitable conditions for diverse ecosystems, as well as water for hydroelectric power plantd and crop irrigation. Rainfall is measured through the use of rain gauges. Rainfall amounts are estimated actively by weather radar and passively by weather satellites.Raj lamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16168452664744742199noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423150179894819514.post-62194817040725620852011-07-05T01:46:00.000-07:002011-07-05T01:55:47.275-07:00Eyes

Are we in balance? Too much Sun can mean ego run amok. You remember the myth about Icarus who flew in his great wings of wax a little too close to the sun?
In most traditions, the Sun is considered a masculine way of being. However, to the Teutonic, Japanese, Oceanic, Maori, and Cherokee cultures the Sun is feminine.
When you read myths, you may also begin to notice that the Sun god or goddess is often paired with another god, whether Moon, Earth, or Storm. The word "love" can have a variety of related but distinct meanings in different contexts. Often, other languages use multiple words to express some of the different concepts that English relies mainly on "love" to encapsulate; one example is the plurality of Greek words for"love" Cultural differences in conceptualizing love thus make it doubly difficult to establish any universal definition.Although the nature or essence of love is a subject of frequent debate, different aspects of the word can be clarified by determining what isn't love. As a general expression of positive sentiment (a stronger form of like), love is commonly contrasted with hate (or neutral apathy ; as a less sexual and more emotionally intimate form of romantic attachment, love is commonly contrasted with lust and as an interpersonal relationship with romantic overtones, love is sometimes contrasted with friendship, although the word love is often applied to close friendships.
History of Lumbini
The Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini, around 544 BC. His father was the ruler of a small State in this area. His mother was on her way to her father’s house when he was born at a small place where she had halted. Emperor Ashoka, one of India’s greatest kings who did the most to spread Buddhism in the world, visited Lumbini in 259 BC to worship at the place where the Buddha was born. In order to identify the place with Lord Buddha, he erected a giant pillar. This pillar is the only proof that Lord Buddha was born here. There is an inscription in the Brahmi language which declares that he made the village free of taxes and a recipient of wealth. The excavation work which has been undertaken recently has unearthed two Chaityas belonging to the 3rd century BC, but the Chinese traveler Huien Tsang who later visited the place had seen these buildings and described them in the 4th century AD. The Chaityas disappeared during the time in the absence of patronage.Raj lamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16168452664744742199noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423150179894819514.post-66197820722684952812011-06-09T20:34:00.001-07:002011-06-09T20:34:47.809-07:00Tourist Attractions in Lumbini Tourist Attractions in Lumbini
Information about Lumbini
Lumbini, a small town in the Terai region is situated south of the foothills of the Churia Range. Terai is the granary of Nepal and also the home to Royal Chitwan Park. Lumbini is only a few kilometers across the Indian border in Nepal. Lumbini is the most important site for the followers of Lord Budha and those interested in Buddhism. Lumbini is now being developed as a major place of pilgrimage with the assistance of United Nations. There are also green lawns and gardens around this pilgrimage site. The Muslims constitute almost half the population of Lumbini although their population in the whole of Nepal is negligible.
The Chaityas disappeared during the time in the absence of patronage.Raj lamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16168452664744742199noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2423150179894819514.post-51978939435083017022011-06-09T20:31:00.001-07:002011-06-09T20:31:29.549-07:00Pokhara Travel Informaiton Pokhara Travel Informaiton
